There Was A Little Girl
Testimonial
Wow..... Wow!
This play has a kind of genius to it.
And I don't say that to all the plays.
Genius has a very specific meaning: it means this thing can have come from only one source. Shakespeare for instance is not a genius. He only ever thought up ONE PLOT (A Midsummer Night's Dream, which is, OK, a pretty good plot). He was the greatest rewrite man in history. But that doesn't make him a genius.
Tennessee is closer to being a genius. But -- as genius does -- it flitted back and forth, in and out, of his work. None of this work is bad (I don't care what they say). But sometimes genius really enters it.
This play has genius in it. Pass that along.
I laughed and cried. I thought about life. And death. And, as they say, all that jazz.
